This is Kumamoto Castle in Kyushu, Japan. The castles in Japan, like those in Europe and elsewhere, tended to be surrounded by moats and set on high walls. The angle of this shot really shows off the massive undertaking that these walls must have been to build. Each stone placed by hand, hand chiselled, carved, and set in place. Just drawing the wall was tiring. I can't imagine actually building one, although if a samurai threatened me with a sword, I could probably find the motivation to do it.
